Go green. $ave Green. Thank you for your participation in the Commuter Challenge 2012! Over 700 people participated this year, a 180 percent increase. Commuters were encouraged to try a new way to work during the entire month of May. A list of prizes and winners is below. 2012 Commuter Challenge prizes and winners (PDF) For those commuters, the commute was not only greener; it also saved them “green.” The seventh annual Commuter Challenge was designed to alleviate drive-alone traffic by introducing drivers to different modes of transportation, such as carpooling and vanpooling, public transportation, walking and biking, and making use of flextime and telecommute benefits.
