SEMCOG has a very long history of acquiring aerial imagery to be used for planning purposes.

More recently, SEMCOG has partnered with our member counties of Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair, Washtenaw, and Wayne; the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department, the United States Geological Survey, and the State of Michigan to acquire aerial imagery.  This regional effort facilitated by SEMCOG benefits the local, regional, state, and federal partners. The goal is to acquire high resolution aerial imagery of the region every five years. Regional projects such as this pass cost savings onto our members, increases collaboration in the state and region, and reduces duplication of effort.

We have a very extensive collection of aerial imagery. All of the aerial imagery is in digital format.

To acquire any of the imagery send an e-mail to SEMCOG’s Information Center and include the following information:

Description of your area of interest
Flight year(s) in which you are interested
Your e-mail address, phone number, and additional contact information
