Land Use Change

SEMCOG's updated land use and land cover for the region to 2000 uses 1:24,000 black-and-white aerial photography flown in 2000. The 1990 land use and land cover data file was revised at the same time to ensure comparability in the analysis of change over time within the region.

Our land use profile summarizes change in land use and land cover from 1990 to 2000 and provides density and percent developed for each community. For definitions of detailed categories, see SEMCOG Land Use and Land Cover Classification System, 1990 and 2000.

Select a community from the drop-down menu at right to generate a land use profile for that area.
