Housing

Housing is an essential element of community development. It impacts residents and governments, property values, local revenues, public services, and community stability. SEMCOG is involved in various aspects of housing through its partnerships with the  U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA). In particular, SEMCOG provides local governments with housing and community development technical assistance in the following areas:

• Neighborhood Stabilization stratgies 
• Combating forclosures
• Neighborhood Maintenance Ordinances & Tools
• Manufactured housing
