Matching ServiceApplying for the program is easy. Just complete the RideShare Application or contact us at 866-510-POOL. Based on the information you give us, we'll send you a computerized list of people in your neighborhood who have similar destinations and work hours. We'll also include information about existing vanpools. Review your list for the most convenient matches, give them a call and make your arrangements.
Changing from a solo commute to a ridesharing arrangement requires some adjustment and compromise. Pooling Pointers will give you some tips for being successful in a car or vanpool. Don't let concerns about being stranded in case of an emergency keep you from car or vanpooling. Our Guaranteed Ride Home Program will reimburse your taxi fare from work to your home, child care facility, or school.
If you're already registered with RideShare and need more riders for an existing pool, call us at 866-510-POOL or e-mail rideshare@semcog.org and we'll run a new list for you. If you're a new applicant and you received a letter from us indicating that we were unable to locate potential poolers, you may want to request a search for a wider area. However, our success in matching depends on the number of commuters registered from any particular neighborhood.
