Direction2035

SEMCOG announces public review and comment period for
region's long-range transportation plan

SEMCOG, the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments, has completed a draft of Direction2035, the region’s next long-range transportation plan, and is asking the public to review the plan and submit comments. Click here to view Direction2035. Call 313-324-3362 for a printed copy of Direction2035.

Direction2035 represents the region’s blueprint for transportation through 2035 and includes policies, initiatives, and projects designed to maximize regional goals. Local elected officials working through SEMCOG have adopted a regional investment direction guiding the distribution of federal funding among six key components — pavement, bridge, congestion mitigation, pedestrian and bike, safety, and transit. SEMCOG has also identified regional needs and priorities and recommended strategies for mitigating those needs. Public comments will be reviewed and considered before Direction2035 is adopted. Direction2035 is scheduled for adoption at SEMCOG’s General Assembly on October 22, 2009.

Comments can be made in-person at the following meetings where SEMCOG committees will be asked to take action:
