Online Resource Library: Federal-aid Essentials for Local Public Agencies Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)
The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is a list of roadway and transit projects selected as priorities for funding by cities, villages, county road commissions, transit agencies, and the Michigan Department of Transportation. The current TIP covers the period from FY 2011 through FY 2014. The projects have been selected from Direction2035: The Regional Transportation Plan for Southeast Michigan. The TIP is also a major part of the State Transportation Improvement Program. The current project list contains over 1,200 projects with an estimated cost of $2.9 billion Three amendments are scheduled per year to add or remove projects. The TIP is regularly updated with relatively minor changes to approved projects referred to as administrative modifications. The most recently approved TIP can be found here (PDF, 3.5 MB). The database allows you to find approved projects or find out about projects currently under review. Querying the database is the most current source of project information. Search results show available project details, including a map of projects in the area, that can be viewed, printed, or downloaded. The following links document the FY 2011-2014 TIP in its entirety. (You can also navigate through the sections of the plan using the icon on the bottom of each page.) These pages are dynamic and always reflect the currently approved TIP , plus any amendments currently being proposed.
