SEMCOG is seeking qualified, energetic individuals interested in performing challenging work in an open, collaborative environment. Major activities are regional planning and local government assistance in plan implementation, related to transportation, environment, and community and economic development. SEMCOG is currently seeking individuals, with the following qualifications, who are able to work both independently and collaboratively:

Full-time position: Analyst

Part-time position: Data Analysis
Successful candidate will have college courses or practical experience in urban or regional planning, geography, GIS, or related fields. Must have knowledge of basic GIS concepts, good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Must be able to work independently or as a team member, be detail-oriented, focused, and able to complete projects on time. Experience using ArcGIS software, MS Access or other database software is desirable. Must have a valid driver's license.

Principal responsibilities include:

Assisting in the building and maintenance of land data map layers, related tax assessing records, employment data, and geospatial databases as input to a 30-year socioeconomic forecast;
Conducting field work to identify or verify significant new construction projects; and
Conducting field work to acquire pavement condition data.
Pay rate is $12.00 per hour.
Twenty-five to twenty-eight hours per week.
