SEMCOG's Executive Committee meets on July 26

The Executive Committee of SEMCOG meets at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2007, in SEMCOG's Buhl Building offices in downtown Detroit.

The Executive Committee will be asked to take action on the following:

  • approve an amendment to the FY 2006-2008 Transportation Improvement Program to add 60 projects and delete five projects; total net increase from this amendment is $66.5 million, representing increases of $51.4 million in federal and $14.7 million in state funding;
  • approve the FY 2008-2011 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), which contains 546 projects. Estimated expenditures for projects is $1.8 billion, representing $1.4 billion in federal, $350 million in state, and $98 million in local funding;
  • approve the recommendations of SEMCOG’s Task Force on Workforce Development in the Changing Economy; and
  • support funding for the Michigan Housing and Community Development Fund.

Representatives from SMART, the Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation, will make a presentation on SMART’s operating budget and five-year capital budget. The proposed operating budget contains $118 million in revenue and $116.4 million in expenses. The five-year capital budget totals $218.5 million.
