planning assistance program

SEMCOG’s Planning Assistance Program was launched in 2019 to provide direct funding for local planning projects that move regional plans and priorities forward. Thus far this program has awarded over $3.8 million through competitive grants to over 100 projects – ranging from planning projects on transportation safety and corridor analysis, trails and greenways, sustainable infrastructure, and pedestrian placemaking.

For FY2026, SEMCOG awarded nearly $500,000 to 13 projects across the region.
