Kathleen Lomako

Kathleen is SEMCOG’s Executive Director. She has decades of experience in both planning and administration. She has a bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in Urban Planning from Wayne State University.

At our staff meeting this week, we discussed holiday plans and took a moment to reflect on what we have to be thankful for at SEMCOG. Here are a few items that were mentioned:

  • Meaningful planning and intergovernmental work aimed at making communities and the region better for residents and visitors.
  • Talented colleagues from a broad range of disciplines that expand our understanding and enable us to look comprehensively at our work.
  • Dedicated elected and appointed officials who participate in SEMCOG planning and governance.
  • Pleasant office surroundings and technical planning tools in the heart of Downtown Detroit.

This year, I am happy to be hosting my family and enjoying the long holiday weekend at home in Southeast Michigan. There is no place I’d rather be. I wish you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving and safe travels if you will be visiting friends or relatives this year.
