On May 30, a Southeast Michigan Traffic Incident Management (TIM) Partnering Workshop was held at the Wayne County Community College District’s Ted Scott Campus in Belleville. The workshop welcomed over 50 representatives from connected professions, including public safety, emergency management, MDOT, public works, road commissions, transportation, transit, and wrecker services.
SEMCOG partnered with and supported the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) in hosting annual event. The workshop provided an opportunity for attendees to interact and learn, with a focus on improving incident management within the region.
The highlight of the event was a presentation on National Football League (NFL) Draft coordination, which included the collaboration from multiple agencies and security professionals. Successfully meeting the challenges of hosting the Draft was a direct result of the region’s preparation and professionalism.

The workshop concluded with the opportunity to attend training for Mi-TIME, which supports agencies in safely and efficiently clearing traffic incidents from the roadway.
