SEMCOG joins the State of Michigan and trail partners across Southeast Michigan in wishing you a happy Michigan Trails Week (Sept. 19 – 26). Trails are key to connecting communities as well as providing people with access to transportation, recreation, health benefits, and many unique regional assets.

As seen in the image above, SEMCOG recently stopped by the Lawrence Tech extension of Southfield’s City Centre Trail, which also helps to illustrate how trails support placemaking and economic development.

2021 Michigan Trails Week Challenge

The Michigan Trails Week Challenge is back this year, and it is free to join for trail veterans and newcomers alike. • Bike for 10 miles
  • Horseback ride for 5 miles
  • Paddle for 2 miles
  • Ride (ORV, ATV or motorcycle) for 15 miles
  • Walk, run, or hike for 5 miles
